Survey on digital preservation networks 2023

Invitation to fill in the questionaire „Survey on digital preservation networks 2023“

For a first time in 2019 nestor initiated a survey on digital preservation networks. The aim was to augment transparency and knowledge about these communities and to support cooperation of different communities worldwide.

The anonymised results of the first survey have been published in 2022 (see: http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0008-2022041204). This year we would like to perform a follow up survey and invite you to participate.

The survey will be conducted by nestor e.V. c/o German National Library, the German speaking network for digital preservation, and the following institutions:

Göttingen  State and University Library
TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library

German National Library
ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics

ZBW lead manages the survey. In case you have any technical questions please contact news@zbw-online.eu. For questions about the content of the survey, please contact VL-nestor@dnb.de.

Filling out the questionnaire will take about 20 to 25 minutes of your time. By doing so, you will help gather an extensive overview about the digital preservation communities, their development and activities. Your participation will also support visibility and community building in digital preservation.

For your convenience we created a pdf-file that you can use as a sort of preview of the survey form. It’s linked here https://wiki.dnb.de/x/46nqE

Which data will be published?

The data you fill in the survey will only be published anonymised and in the internet like the results of the first survey you see above. Institutions, that like to participate in the Community Profiles may state their interest at the end of the questionaire.

How long will these data be stored and published?

The data concerning the institutions will remain permanently in open access. The anonymised data will be permanently used for the above mentioned purposes. The data relating to persons will be deleted after five years or in case of updates which render the data no longer valid.

Thank you for your support!

This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.
